According to the schedule, there will be one trip to and from Singaporeper week as well as trips to transport domestic goods from the northernto southern region.
In the first phase, the companywill use a 600 TEU liner (one TEU is equivalent to a 20 foot container)with about 10 hours for unloading goods.
NguyenDuy Ngoc, director of Gemadept DungQuat port, said the port was put intooperation in 2009 with a wharf 160 metres in length and a 100,000sq.mwarehouse capable of storing 6,000 containers.
As thethird Gemadept Corporation port following the ones in Ho Chi Minh Cityand Hai Phong, DungQuat is one of the largest ports in the centralregion and able to receive 30,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage) vessels andhandle goods with a capacity of 150,000 TEUs per year./.
