Technology and equipment contracts to build the Do Luong Cement Plant in the central province of Nghe An were signed in Hanoi on July 13 between the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) and two contractors from China and Germany.
The Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute (TCDRI) will provide technology and equipment services worth 19.4 million USD, including technology design, test services, training for technology transfer and equipment for heat exchange towers and the kiln system.
Holding 75 percent of China ’s market share, TCDRI is the country’s foremost contractor in design and equipment supply for cement plants. It has participated in the construction of several cement plants in Vietnam such as Phuc Son, Song Thao and Tay Ninh.
The second bidding package worth 8.7 million EUR will be carried out by Loesche GmbH, a Germany pioneer and pacemaker in roller grinding mill technology.
Loesche GmbH has provided grinding machines for a number of cement plants in Vietnam , including Nghi Son, Cong Thanh, Cam Pha, But Son 1 and 2 and Binh Phuoc.
With a capacity of 2,500 tonnes of clinker per day, the Do Luong Cement Plant, the second largest of its kind in Vietnam, has been built following the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract and under the Prime Minister’s instruction to develop the country’s cement industry.
Once completed, the plant will greatly contribute to the industry’s outputs and generate jobs for a large number of local people.
Do Luong Cement Joint Stock Company is the project’s main contractor and Lilama, Housing and Urban Development Holdings and Building Materials Corporation No.1 are main shareholders./.
