Bangkok (VNA) – The Thai Government on August 18 announced the expansion of restrictions to three more provinces as the country reeled under unprecedented numbers of coronavirus infections and fatalities on the third consecutive day.
Accordingly, curfew from 9pm to 4am and other restrictions will be imposed in the provinces of Chonburi, Ayutthaya and Chachoengsao from July 20.
Also on July 18, Thailand logged a record 11,397 infections with 101 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total caseload and deaths to 403,386 and 3,341, respectively.
On July 17, Indonesia announced additional 51,952 infection cases and 1,092 deaths, raising the total respective numbers to 2,832,755 and 72,489.
The same day, the Philippine Health Ministry reported 6,040 more new cases, pushing the national count to 1,502,359. With 122 more deaths in the past 24 hours, the fatalities amounted to 26,598./.
