A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) attended the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of Sweden (SKP) and the 40 th founding anniversary of the SKP from Jan. 6-8.
Vuong Thua Phong, Deputy Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and head of the delegation, delivered greetings and handed over a message of congratulation extended by the CPV Central Committee to the congress.
The 16 th SKP National Congress evaluated the economic, political and social situation of Sweden and the world over the past years and set out the party’s political guidelines and operation directions for the years to come.
The congress elected a new Party Central Committee. Anders Carlssons was re-elected as President of the SKP.
While in Sweden , Phong met with SKP President Anders Carlssons and Erik Anderson, Politburo member and International Secretary of the SKP Central Committee.
The Vietnamese delegates also held separate meetings with international delegations and friends attending the congress, during which they introduced the CPV’s preparations for the upcoming 11 th National Party Congress, slated for January 12-19./.
