Prague (VNA) – President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman expected that his upcoming visit to Vietnam in early June will produce fruitful outcomes, with economic cooperation, especially tourism development, high on the agenda of bilateral discussions.
President Zeman made the remarks while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan in Prague on May 23, who came to present his credentials.
He lauded the smooth development of the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in the recent past, expressing his wish to further enhance bilateral ties in the coming time.
The President also voiced his hope that the ambassador would help usher in a new chapter in relations between the two nations.
For his part, Tuan conveyed Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang’s greetings to President Zeman and thanked the Czech government and people for their valuable support and assistance to Vietnam.
He also thanked the Czech Republic for recognising the Vietnamese-Czech community as the country’s 14th ethnic minority group, expecting that the Czech government will provide necessary conditions for them to integrate well into local society.
Tuan vowed to do his utmost to contribute to developing friendship and cooperative ties between Vietnam and the Czech Republic with an emphasis placed on economic, tourism, culture and sport cooperation.-VNA
