Hanoi (VNA) – Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Vietnam Vitezslav Grepl has suggested that Vietnam and his country take new measures to ratchet up defence ties.
He was speaking at a reception hosted by Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh in Hanoi on May 4.
The diplomat said the cooperation between the two countries, including the defence partnership, is growing, but it is still behind their potential and strength.
Vinh agreed with the diplomat’s suggestion, stressing the need for the armies to increase all-level visit exchange and define concrete cooperative contents in line with a memorandum of understanding on defence cooperation signed in 2012.
On the occasion, he conveyed the invitation to visit Vietnam from Minister of Defence Ngo Xuan Lich to his Czech counterpart.-VNA
