Da Nang, Lao localities cooperate in development

A series of agreements have been reached between the central city of Da Nang and Lao localities in recent years, pledging an increase in cooperation.

So far, the city have signed 29 cooperationdocuments in delegation exchange, business, planning, healthcare andeducation with the Lao provinces of Savannakhet, Champasak, Sekong,Salavan, Attapeu, Bolikhamsay, Xayaburi, and the capital city ofVientiane.

By 2012, Da Nang had provided Lao localities withabout 57 billion VND (2.65 million USD) through 51 projects to developagriculture, socioeconomic planning, human resources, transportation andsports.

From 2013 to 2017, the city has pledged to supportsouthern Lao provinces with 50 billion VND (2.3 million USD) ineducation and agriculture.

Last year, export turnover from DaNang to Laos reached 34.4 million USD with commodities includinggasoline and oil, plastic and rubber products.

Laos is now home to four investment projects from the city with total registered capital of 52.3 million USD.-VNA
