Da Nang (VNA) – The central Da Nang city launchedthe sea tourism season 2019 on April 26, expecting to attract large crowds ofvisitors, both domestic and foreign.

The season will feature a signing ceremony of pledges amongtravel agencies to protect tourism environment, pigeon releasing, a kayak raceon My Khe sea, a chess championship on Ban Co (Chessboard) peak, a hot-air balloonshow, an artistic kite flying event, souvenir stalls and daily nigh musicshows.

Visitors could have a chance to enjoy scuba diving, tours ofSon Tra peninsula, join a swimming competition, and watch night skies bytelescopes, among others.

Head of the management board for Son Tra peninsula and DaNang beaches Nguyen Duc Vu said the annual activity aims to introduce newtourism services during April 30 – May 1 holiday, thus raising public awarenessof sea and island environment protection.

Last year, thecity was ranked the second most popular destination for solo or coupletravellers, reported the Republic of Korea’s Ticket Monster Inc. Da Nang was alsodescribed as the best place to live in Vietnam.-VNA

Condé Nast Traveler names InterContinental Danang Best Resort in Asia for 2026

On October 6, Condé Nast Traveler announced its “Top 15 Resorts in Asia” list as part of the 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort ranked first with a score of 98.76, ahead of Wildflower Hall, Shimla - an Oberoi resort in India - which placed second with 98.56. The Oberoi Vindhyavilas Wildlife Resort, Bandhavgarh, took third place with 98.36.
