Da Nang prepares health services for APEC week

The central city of Da Nang has completed preparations for medical services at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Economic Leaders Week in early November, the municipal Department of Health reported on September 28.

Da Nang (VNA)– The central city of Da Nang has completed preparations for medical servicesat the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Economic Leaders Weekin early November, the municipal Department of Health reported on September 28.

In a meeting with Health DeputyMinister Le Quang Cuong, Da Nang health department’s deputy director Nguyen TanHai said the city already issued a comprehensive plan on medical preparationsfor APEC 2017.

Accordingly, 23 emergencyparamedics will be available for the event, of which 17 will be stationed atthe 17 hotels where the delegations will stay, another two each for thebusiness and the media centre, while the APEC staff and flight crews will alsohave medics available for them.

The city’s healthdepartment also plans to station nine medical teams at Da Nang C Hospital, DaNang Hospital and seven district health centres in case of emergencies.

[Da Nang ready for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week]

Regarding food safety, thecity’s Food Hygiene and Safety Division will constantly carry out food anddrinks inspections throughout the city to ensure food quality during the week,Hai said.

So far the food safetydivision completed food inspections at 16 out of 17 hotels hosting APEC guests.-VNA

PM releases instructions as measles cases increase

Vietnam has recorded nearly 40,000 suspected measles cases and five measles-related deaths since the beginning of this year. The southern region reported the highest number of cases (57%), the central region accounted for 19.2%, the north 15.1%, and the Central Highlands 8.7%.
