Beaches in Da Nang are starting to become crowded every morning and afternoon, even though the peak tourism season is yet to arrive.
The rescue teams of the Son Tra peninsula management board and Da Nang’s beaches have nearly 100 members, divided into 19 groups, who work at public beaches to ensure safety.
Local rescue teams have been alerted to 50 near-drownings since the beginning of this year, and promptly saved and assisted victims.
As well as ensuring visitor safety while swimming, the rescue teams are also responsible for maintaining security and order and environmental sanitation.
Da Nang is also expanding cooperation and sharing experience with international organisations in rescue efforts.
Ensuring safety and security at beaches is one of the leading factors helping Da Nang promote itself as a popular destination, and it boasts My Khe Beach, which Forbes magazine has listed as one of the six most attractive on the planet./.
