Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s CommitteeNguyen Ngoc Tuan made the affirmation at a November 13 ceremonylaunching a project to improve the capacity of Da Nang small- andmedium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accessing information on land,construction and business registration.

This is one of the 19projects honoured at the 2014 Vietnam Anti-Corruption InitiativeProgarmme (VACI 2014) co-hosted by the World Bank and the GovernmentInspectorate.

The project reflects the local authorities’determination to facilitate businesses’ information access andcontributes to improving transparency and the investment environment, hesaid.

It also targets the sustainability of the city’s leadingplace in the National Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) rankingsand the implementation of activities during the “Da Nang Business Year2014”.

According to Tuan, during the one-year project, there willbe training courses and seminars on communication skills and thebuilding of a code of conduct among businesses along with activitiesconnecting enterprises and State agencies.

Once it ends inOctober 2015, 70 percent of businesses will grasp ways to accessinformation sources and corporate support services, he said.

Thecity will form a network of officials in charge to provide informationfor enterprises on fields of their concern, creating a close linkbetween them and State agencies, he added.-VNA

First “green lane” durian shipment exported to China

​Under the “green lane” process, quality control begins at the cultivation stage, including soil sampling and monitoring, and continues through harvesting and processing, with traceability labels attached to trees and applied to fruit at the time of picking. It also allows plant quarantine procedures and the issuance of certificates of origin (C/O) directly in the localities where the orchards are located.
