The agreement will promote cooperation in the area of information technology through the exchange of personnel and information.

IT strategy, particularly in relation to trading systems, had become essential to the development of securities exchanges, said Tokyo Stock Exchange Group president Atsushi Saito.

A new trading system launched at the beginning of this year would support the development of the Hanoi Stock Exchange and invigorate the capital markets of both Japan and Vietnam, Saito said.

The partnership was a major opportunity to access an advanced IT system and learn from the second largest exchange in the world, said Hanoi Stock Exchange CEO Tran Van Dung.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange, the largest market inthe Asia-Pacific region, was capitalised at 3.5 trillion USD as of the end of October./.
