Hanoi (VNA) – Twenty three people have been found dead and 15 have gone missing during flash floods and landslides in the Indonesian province of West Java.
The natural disaster in the night of September 20 also injured 32 locals. Search for the missing is being implemented.
Search and Rescue forces found 20 bodies after flash floods and landslides in Garut regency, according to Indonesia’s National Agency for Disaster Management.
Torrential rains swelled the Cimanuk and Cikamuri rivers, resulting in flash floods which damaged houses in the area.
About 1,100 people had to evacuate to government buildings and military bases.
Three people were killed from the disaster in Sumedang regency.
Local authorities are continuing to calculate damage caused by the flash floods and landslides.-VNA
