Minister of Naitonal Defence General Phung Quang Thanh is leading a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 7th ASEAN Defence Ministerial Meeting (ADMM-7), which is slated to take place in Brunei from May 6-8.
Issues under spotlight at the 7th ADMM include the recent development of ASEAN and security and defence situation in the region.
The meeting will work on the establishment of a defence exchange programme, a logistics assistance framework and a working group on humanitarian mine action.
The delegates are expected to adopt a join statement on the meeting’s theme of “Securing our people, our future together”.
Furthermore, the meeting will be updated on a H umanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief/Military Medicine (HADR/MM) exercise under the framework of ADMM Plus which is scheduled to take place in Brunei from June 16 to 20.-VNA
