Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh received a high-ranking delegation from the Lao People’s Army in Hanoi on March 4, visiting Vietnam to discuss the implementation of signed agreements.
Minister Thanh spoke highly of the results of previous talks between the Lao guests and a Vietnam People’s Army delegation headed by Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Phan Trung Kien.
He affirmed that the visit would help realise the contents of bilateral cooperation agreements signed by the two countries’ defence ministers as well as consolidate the solidarity and special friendship between the two countries and two armies.
For his part, the head of the delegation, Lieut. Gen. Chansamon Channhalat, expressed his belief that the visit would yield good results, contributing to developing the ties between the two armies and two nations./.
