Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam affirmedthat the Vietnamese Government always opens its door to foreign enterprises inhis speech at the Vietnam Business Summit 2019 held in Hanoi on October 16.

He highlighted that Vietnam’s economic growth ranked secondglobally as announced by the World Bank, making the country a destination formany firms across the world.

The official suggested that businesses should pay attentionto infrastructure, finance, banking, land as well as workforce training.

Vietnam is now ready for the fourth industrial revolution,he said, adding that the country has stepped up the aplication of informationtechnology in diverse areas, with improving information safety and security.

President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry VuTien Loc said prestigious international organisations are optimistic aboutVietnam’s economic growth. Up to 90 percent of domestic and foreign businesscommunity expressed their belief that business climate will become better inthe near future.

As many as 130,000 enterprises were established or resumedoperations in the first nine months of this year and 70 percent offoreign-invested firms planned to further expand operations in Vietnam, hesaid.

According to him, the Vietnamese Government has successfullylaunched an action programme to develop e-government and build infrastructurefor a digital economy.

The information technology adoption index went up 54 placesin the World Economic Forum’s rankings 2019 with increasing number of mobilephone subscribers and Internet popularity, boding well for software productionand digital application in economic sectors, thus opening up opportunities for investorsat home and abroad, Loc said.

Participants at the event discussed measures to digitiseeconomic sectors such as finance, agriculture and production.

The event attracted over 800 delegates, including nearly 300foreign ones who also attended the Asia Business Summit 2019./.
