Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for delegates from the Lao National War Veterans’ Association and the Cambodian War Veteran Association in Hanoi on Dec. 20.
The Lao and Cambodian delegates are in Vietnam to attend the 5 th National Congress of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association (VWVA).
During the reception, Phuc said the participation of the delegates will contribute to deepening the friendship among the three countries, for the common interest of the people and Governments of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia .
He said he hopes the three countries will further boost their traditional relationship in a comprehensive and effective manner.
The President of the Lao National War Veterans’ Association, Major General Somphon Keomixay, and the Deputy Secretary of the Cambodian War Veteran Association Keo Borent, expressed their gratitude to Vietnam for its help for the two neighbouring countries during their struggles for independence in the past, as well as their current national construction.
They said they hope to learn from the experience of Vietnamese war veterans in continuing to contribute to national defence and construction.-VNA
