Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received Chairman of the Republic of Korea’s Taekwang group Park Yeon-cha in Hanoi on December 4.
Highlighting the development of the two countries’ strategic cooperative partnership, Deputy PM Minh applauded friendship exchanges held to mark 25 years of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties this year, including activities organised by Taekwang.
He valued the firm’s investment and business activities in Vietnam over the last two decades, which have contributed to local socio-economic development. The group has also actively joined social and humanitarian aid activities in Vietnam.
Taekwang should expand investment using advanced and environmentally friendly technology, effectively implement the licensed projects, and continue taking part in social and humanitarian activities, thereby helping to enhance the strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and the RoK, he added.
At the meeting, Chairman Park briefed his host about Taekwang’s activities, especially the construction of the Hai Hau thermal power plant, fertiliser and footwear production projects, and the building of a vocational school.
He affirmed that the group will expand investment and carry out its projects well while actively participating in Vietnam’s social welfare programmes.
On this occasion, he presented 100,000 USD to support some flood-hit localities in the central region of Vietnam.-VNA
