Deputy PM Phuc meets Lao leaders

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said the Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to strengthening and enhancing the special and faithful ties between Vietnam and Laos.

Deputy PM Phuc, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam–Laos CooperationSub-committee, made the remark while meeting with Lao Party GeneralSecretary and President Choummaly Sayasone, Prime Minister ThongsingThammavong and National Assembly President Pany Yathotu in Vientianeon December 17.

He briefed the Lao leaders on theoutcome of the 36 th Vietnam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee, whichtook place earlier the same day, saying that both sides were pleasedwith their work together in economics, culture, education, science andtechnology during the year.

Delegates also franklypointed out limitations in several fields of bilateral cooperation andput forward measures to address the issues as soon as possible, headded.

The Lao leaders said that bilateralcooperative ties will be further developed in all fields this way,especially in economics, investment, trade and human resources training.

They pledged to create all favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to do business in the country.-VNA

To further advance bilateral ties in the new era, the two leaders agreed to continue making full use of existing cooperation mechanisms across all channels, including meetings between the two Parties, promote exchanges between young leaders and youth from both countries, and expand cooperation between their legislative, executive and judicial bodies, people’s organisations and localities.

This is PM Hung’s first official visit to Cambodia. It holds particular significance, demonstrating the high priority that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam attach to relations with Cambodia and contributing to further deepening the bilateral ties of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability”.

Vietnam promotes Party diplomacy at international conference in Mexico

Assoc.
