Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem, as chairman of the National Committee for ASEAN 2010 and chairman of the ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC), on September 27 received ASEAN delegates to the 6 th ASEAN People’s Forum (APF-6) in Hanoi.
During the meeting, Deputy PM heard their reports on the positive results of the forum which has put forth measures to boost cooperation among people’s organisations in ASEAN, for solidarity and actions to build a people-centred ASEAN community.
He affirmed that building a people-centred ASEAN is a target that is clearly stated in the ASEAN Charter. He also urged people’s organisations of ASEAN countries to act as a bridge to call for the people’s active support for the target of regional connectivity and ASEAN community.
On behalf of the ACC, Deputy PM Khiem received the Joint Statement and acknowledged recommendations of the APF-6./.
