The Deputy PM requested members of the NorthwestSteering Committee take initiative in preparing activity plans for theregion in the last six months of 2015.

The Deputy PM praisedachievements of the region’s 14 provinces in hunger elimination andpoverty reduction, social security and national defence.

He alsorequested provinces expand and scale up agricultural economic models andscientific technological transfer in agriculture.
Accordingto Steering Committee Deputy Head Truong Xuan Cu, economicdevelopment in the region has progressed steadily over the past sixmonths; GDP growth is estimated to hit 7.75 percent with state budgetcollection surging nearly 16 percent from the same period last year.

Cuadded promotion activities, agro-forestry production,education-training and public health services in the region have beencarried out effectively, helping create a driving force for localities.
Head of the Committee for Religious Affairs Pham Dung saidthe region has always pursued policies that safeguard local rights toreligion.

As reported by the Ministry of National Defence,localities have effectively implemented plans to ensure national defenceand security, and the country’s sovereignty, he added.

DeputyGovernor of the State Bank Dao Minh Tu said the State Bank hasintroduced several preferential mechanisms and policies for locals.

TheState Bank is also piloting a credit loan programme which associateseconomic zones and production value chains and applies scientifictechnology in production, especially in agriculture.-VNA

Hanoi strengthens oversight of transition to E10 biofuel

To ensure compliance with the transition roadmap, the Hanoi Market Surveillance Sub-Department has requested petrol traders to proactively review and upgrade storage tanks, fuel pumps and other technical conditions necessary for E10 distribution, thereby preventing disruptions to fuel supply serving consumption and production demands across the capital.

Authorities ordered to closely monitor rollout of E10 biofuel from June 1

According to the agency, the move is aimed at ensuring the effective and synchronised implementation of the E10 transition roadmap under Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on November 7, 2025. The plan seeks to avoid delays or supply disruptions that could affect the domestic fuel market.
