The southern province of Dong Nai is implementing measures to meet itssocio-economic development targets for 2015 on time, Vice Chairman ofthe provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc stated on July 16.
Until the end of this year, priority will be given to addressing thedifficulties faced by production and improving the business climate witha focus on administrative procedure reforms involving taxation,customs, social insurance and investment, he said.
Thelocality will mobilise resources to upgrade infrastructure, protect theenvironment and build new-style rural areas, while helping enterprisesto find partners, to expand their market shares and to learn about theopportunities and challenges of the formation of the ASEAN EconomicCommunity in late 2015.
Authorities in Dong Nai willalso intensify the management of state budget collection, strive toensure social welfare and address local residents’ complaints, he added.
According to a report by the People’s Committee, theprovince’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) exceeded 32 trillionVND (1.47 billion USD) in the January-June period, up by 11 percentyear-on-year. 21 trillion VND was generated by the industry andconstruction sectors, 8.74 trillion VND by the services sector, and 2.26trillion VND by the agriculture, fishery and forestry sector.
In the same period, the province attracted more than 1 billion USD inforeign investment, a year-on-year rise of 27 percent, and 5 trillionVND (230 million USD) in domestic investment, amounting to 63.3 percentof the annual target. State budget collection generated nearly 19trillion VND (874 million USD), up by 14 percent compared to the sameperiod last year.-VNA
