The southern province of Dong Nai has set a target of increasing its average trade growth to 16 percent each year in the 2016-2020 period.
According to the province’s trade development plan until 2020 with a vision to 2025, total retail sales will exceed 155 trillion VND (7.28 billion USD) in 2015 and triple by 2020.
By 2015, the province is also set to raise its import-export value to 15-16 billion USD, nearly 10 percent higher than the 11 billion USD at the moment.
In order to meet the target, Dong Nai province will focus on developing domestic trade, diversifying production and businesses, as well as developing service industries.
Meanwhile, local authorities will step up import-export activities, especially in industrial, electronics and telecommunications areas.
Last year, Dong Nai province raked in more than 98 trillion VND (4.6 billion USD) from retail and service activities, up 14.5 percent against 2012.-VNA
