The Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam (Doosan Vina) company in the central province of Quang Ngai has completed the shipment of eight rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGC) to the Port of Singapore Authority, said Hang Ha Ryu, Doosan Vina General Director.
This is the third shipment, raising the number of RTGC exported to Singapore to 20 out of 36 cranes in the contract.
Each RTGC is 27m high, 11m wide and 25m long, weighs 245 tonnes and is designed to handle 40-tonne containers.
Hang Ha Ryu said that in 2012, five factories of Doosan Vina have been manufacturing boilers for the Mong Duong II thermo-electric Power Plant and for export to Egypt, as well as continuing to manufacture the remaining 16 RTGCs for Singapore.
The company’s total value of production has reached 200 million USD, creating jobs for 2,000 workers, with 1,500 from Quang Ngai province, he said./.
