DPRK delegation chows down at Hanoi restaurant

A delegation from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) led by Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the WPK Ri Su-yong arrived for a luncheon at Ngon Garden Restaurant in downtown Hanoi on February 28.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - A delegation from the Democratic People’s Republicof Korea (DPRK) led by Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of theWPK Ri Su-yong arrived for a luncheon at Ngon Garden Restaurant indowntown Hanoi on February 28.

Hyon Song-wol, who is a renowned singer from the DPRK, is among the delegationmembers.

The delegation, in Vietnam for the second DPRK-USA summit, were impressed bythe restaurant’s beautiful views and traditional dishes such as goi cuon tomthit (rolled shrimp and pork salad), che to yen chung (birds’ nestsoup), ca lang nướng (grilled lang fish ), banh xeo (sizzling crepe), and many others.

The guests said Ngon Garden was an ambassador for Vietnamese cuisine. They saidthey would return to the restaurant next time.
Restaurant owner Pham Bich Hanh presented a paintingtitled Thanh Co Loa (Co Loa Citadel) as a gift to the delegation.

“We are very honoured and happy to welcome the DPRKdelegation to Ngon Garden,” Hanh said, adding that she hoped the delegationenjoyed the dishes.-VNS/VNA
