“Dreamy Eyes” shines at ASEAN Film Festival in Hong Kong

The second ASEAN Film Festival, held in China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from September 5 to 28, features more than 20 films showcasing the unique cultures of ASEAN countries, with the Vietnamese movie “Mat Biec” (Dreamy Eyes) by director Victor Vu leaving a strong impression on international audiences.

The festival is organized by the Hong Kong-ASEAN Association and the Consulates General of the 10 ASEAN countries in Hong Kong (China).

Hong Kong audiences have an opportunity to explore and learn about the diverse cultures of the 10 ASEAN nations from a cinematic perspective, thus promoting cross-cultural connections and honoring the cultural values ​​of the participating countries.

The Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong proudly presented “Dreamy Eyes,” directed by Victor Vu and based on the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh.

With excellent filming techniques, the movie captures the beauty of Vietnam’s countryside and the simplicity of village life.

During the nearly one-month film festival, the participating movies have been screened at various cinemas across Hong Kong./.
