Drone show lights up Hanoi sky

On the evening of February 9 (the 30th day of the last lunar month), the vicinity of West Lake teemed with spectators eager to witness the 2024 drone performance. This spectacle recreated the history and culture of the capital city, illuminating the Hanoi sky.

One of the highlights of the show was the incorporation of cultural and historical symbols of the city and the country as a whole, with the depiction of the Ly dynasty dragon being particularly impressive in promoting Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Following the Southeast Asia record-breaking drone performance, the familiar fireworks display took center stage. Before the performance, many roads congested with a large influx of cars and motorcycles.

Many people took shortcuts to Nguyen Dinh Thi and Trich Sai streets—two designated viewing areas for the performance. Another large crowd gathered at Van Cao for a panoramic and closer view.

The drone and fireworks show marked the end of 2023, paving the way for new expectations and hopes for a "dragon transformation" in 2024./.
