Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Eleven Malaysian fishermen, including three steersmen, on a fishing voyage have been classified as missing after failing to return home on March 28, according to Malaysia’s New Straits Times.

Director of Malaysia’s Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in Kelantan Colonel Nurul Hizam Zakaria said the 11 fishermen on board a fishing vessel left the Pangkalan Petah jetty on March 25 for 64 nautical miles off the Tok Bali fishing port in Kelantan.

The fishermen were scheduled to return home on March 28, but until now they have been unreachable. They were believed to have met with accident.

Nurul Hizam said the MMEA began its search and rescue, but they have yet to locate the missing men.
