ENTECH Vietnam 2018 kicks off in HCM City

HCM City (VNA) – The 10th International Environment and Energy Technology Exhibition (ENTECH Vietnam 2018) kicked off at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on May 9.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen The Dong, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Environment Administration under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, said that over the past years, Vietnam has rolled out many measures to protect the environment and boost sustainable development in industrial and agricultural production.

Enterprises as well as production and trading establishments should promptly renovate their production process and services by applying advanced, environmentally-friendly technologies.

Running through May 11, ENTECH Vietnam 2018 has seen the participation 120 domestic and foreign enterprises with 160 booths showing hundreds of products and technologies in environmental treatment, new energy, renewable energy and eco-products.

The annual event offered a chance for enterprises from other countries, especially those that are strong in environment technology and energy, to seek business opportunities in Vietnam as well as Southeast Asia.

It was also a venue for domestic firms to access new technologies and connect with foreign partners, thus improving their capacity in engaging in domestic energy and environment projects.

Vu Ngoc Tinh, Director of the Centre for Environment Consultancy and Technology, said that the new features of ENTECH Vietnam 2018 include activities to promote partnerships between Vietnam and other countries in environmental technologies and energy, and encourage the signing of memorandum of understanding and cooperation deals among enterprises.

According to the organisers, last year, the exhibition drew 170 companies from six countries with 220 booths, attracting 35,800 visitors.-VNA
