Festival of northwest tourism villages to run in Hoa Binh

A festival gathering 14 typical community-based tourism villages across the northwest region will take place in Hoa Binh province from October 6 to 8.

Hoa Binh (VNA) - A festival gathering14 typical community-based tourism villages across the northwest region willtake place in Hoa Binh province from October 6 to 8.

At a press conference on October 3, the HoaBinh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism released the list of the 14participating villages, including those of Thai and Muong ethnic groups in HoaBinh, and others in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, andHanoi.

The festival was said to feature a festivalof traditional music and traditional ethnic costumes, a cooking contest, anexhibition of tourism products, and a photo exhibition on tourism in Hoa Binhand the extended Northwest region.

A seminar on sustainable development ofnorthwest community-based tourism will also take place.

Bui Van Lam, head of the Hoa BinhDepartment of Culture, Sports and Tourism said preparations have almostcompleted, and stated that local authorities are committed to ensuring securityand food safety for visitors during the festival.-VNA
