Filipino fisherman recovered adrift near Truong Sa

A Filipino fisherman was saved by a Vietnamese fishing vessel on May 4 afternoon adrift in waters off the Truong Sa island district in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa.

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A Filipino fisherman was saved by a Vietnamese fishing vessel on May 4 afternoon adrift in waters off the Truong Sa island district in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa.

The distressed fisherman, Allan Maglangit, 51 years old was rescued by a Vietnamese fishing vessel in the area about 15 nautical miles off Thi Tu island.

On the evening of the same day, a ship of the Naval Region 4 High Command which was patrolling the waters received information, found the fishing vehicle and received the Filipino fisherman.

In the afternoon of May 6, the naval ship handed over the Filipino fisherman to a Filipino patrol ship at a point 80 nautical miles off Da Thi island./.
