Filipino naval chief visits Vietnam

The Vietnamese and Philippine navies should step up cooperation in personnel training, information, search and rescue and joint naval patrols in the future, said Vietnam ’s Chief of General Staff, Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty.

Ty, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, stated this whilst receiving the Philippines ’ Naval Commander Vice Admiral Alexander P Pama in Hanoi on Mar. 13.

He said that the visit is to put into action the bilateral agreement on defence cooperation as well as the memorandum of understanding to strengthen ties between both navies.
Vice Admiral Pama said he is pleased with the outcome of his visit to Vietnam and praised the level of hospitality he receives from his host.-VNA
