The first national ethnic minority congress will be held in Hanoi in mid May 2010 on the occasion of late President Ho Chi Minh’s 120th birthday.
This was announced by Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Affairs Giang Seo Phu at a press briefing in Hanoi on July 21.
He told the press that the congress will be held at district, provincial and national levels with the participation of representatives of religious organisations and a number of foreign individuals and organisations who have made contributions to the national great unity bloc, poverty reduction and social welfare.
The national congress will be followed by a gala night of 54 ethnic minorities, he added./.
