First stage of project on advancing women's leadership in education completed
Sydney (VNA) – The first stage of a
project on promoting women's leadership capacity in the education sector for Vietnamese alumni in
Australia has been completed.
Funded by the fund of Vietnamese alumni in
Australia and launched in April, the project aims to improve awareness and
leadership capacity of Vietnamese alumni in Australia who now hold managerial
roles in educational establishments across Vietnam.
Dr Nguyen Thi Lan Huong from Australia’s RMIT
University, head of the project, said at a recent workshop that a total of 14
seminars on different topics were held in the past six months, attracting 28
speakers as well as about 60 weekly group discussions among women under the first
stage of the project.
Participants had a chance to listen to success
stories by their counterparts as well as difficulties in their career.
Huong added that in the next stage, the project
will compile a book on experience and feedback collected during the seminars.
In early 2022, a seminar will also be held with
the participation of around 100 guests who are policymakers and leaders in State
agencies and educational establishments. It is expected to collect their
recommendations regarding education policy for the Vietnamese Government./.
