Fisherman with stroke brought from Song Tu Tay island to mainland for treatment

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A helicopter operated by theArmy Corps 18 under the Ministry of National Defence has operated an emergencyflight to bring a fisherman suffering a stroke from Song Tu Tay island in the central provinceof Khanh Hoa’s Truong Sa district to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment.
While working on a local ship at sea on March 5, the patient, born in 1953, felt dizzy, then fellon the deck and was unable to speak and paralysed on the right side of the body.
Later on the day, he was brought to the island for emergencycare.
Initially diagnosed with complete paralysis of the right sideof his body and suspected of having a stroke for 17 hours, the man wasrecommended to be transported to shore for further treatment at the MilitaryHospital 175 in HCM City./.
The Army Corps 18 under the Ministry of National Defence has safely operated an emergency flight to carry a patient from Song Tu Tay island of Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago to the mainland for timely treatment.
The High Command of Navy Region 4 said on January 15 that military medical staff have provided emergency treatment for a fisherman whose right hand was crushed while working at sea.
Clinics in the island district of Truong Sa, the central province of Khanh Hoa, recently saved two fishermen encountering health problems while working at sea.
The fisheries resources surveillance and naval forces of Vietnam are working to rescue Panama-flagged Vessel Pacific 07 which encountered a breakdown while passing the waters of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, according to the Naval Region 4 Command.
