People in the central province of Thua Thien - Hue have continued to receive support from organisations and agencies to overcome losses in recent floods.

Thua Thien - Hue (VNA) –People in the central province of Thua Thien - Hue have continued to receivesupport from organisations and agencies to overcome losses in recent floods.

On December 4, Bitexco Group offeredaid worth one billion VND (43,990 USD), donated by staff members and affiliatesof the group to support the victims.

The same day, the province alsoreceived 500 million VND (about 21,990 USD) from the Ministry of Planning andInvestment.

Earlier, the National Citizen Bank -Hue branch and the Thua Thien - Hue Business Association presented gift setsfor flood-hit people in Huong Tra and Huong Thuy towns of the province. Adelegation led by Director of the NCB – Hue branch Vo Van Tuan also handed over400 gift sets including rice and cash worth a total 200 million VND (8,800 USD)to locals.

Nguyen Van Phuong, Vice Chairman ofthe provincial People’s Committee, said downpours from November 20-22 left twopeople dead, one missing and another injured, and flooded 7,966 houses in thelocality.-VNA

OVs in Thailand preserve cultural legacy
