Flying taxi, racing simulator draw crowds to exhibition

From October 28 to November 1 at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi, tens of thousands of people visited the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023 (VIIE 2023).

At the exhibition, some of the most popular attractions were the virtual reality experience products. This included the urban air mobility (UAM), commonly known as a flying taxi from SK Telecom (the Republic of Korea) and a racing game simulation system from VNM Simulation (Vietnam).

At VIIE 2023, the UAM model has just been placed in a visually appealing space that is very interesting and easy to experience. Not only young people but also older people showed interest and excitement.

Developed by the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the US Aviation Administration, designed to transport people and goods, UAM will be tested in 2024 and is expected to be operational in 2025.

When it comes to technology products, it's hard to ignore video games. In the VEER area specialising in virtual reality on the 3rd floor, the Sim Racing game with VNM Simulation attracted scores of youngsters to register for the experience.

The massive set of equipment such as screens, controllers, gearbox, the accelerator-brake pedal, motion simulator among others will help bring the closest feeling to real racing. Accordingly, the total cost for the system displayed here is about 20,000 USD (nearly 500 million VND).

The Vietnam Innovation International Exhibition introduces 8 key technology areas including smart factories, smart cities, hydrogen technology, digital communications, medical technology, environmental technology and security. networks./.
