Hanoi police have arrested four Chinese nationals for forging credit cards to withdraw cash, the Police Department for High-Tech Crime Prevention under the Hanoi Police said on April 28.
The arrest was made on April 22 when the suspects were withdrawing money through a point-of-sale (POS) machine installed on a taxi.
Police searched two hotels on Tan Ap street, Ba Dinh district, where they were living, and confiscated card making devices, one POS machine and 109 credit cards.
They initially found out that the suspects bought hacked credit data from foreign websites and entered Vietnam to make credit cards.
The gang made 95 transactions, 56 of which were successful with a total sum of over 54 million VND (2,600 USD).
Police is further investigating the case.-VNA
