Foreigners celebrate Christmas away from home

Fun, warm, and “different from home” is how many foreigners feel about Christmas in Vietnam as they join the partying crowds along the streets of Hanoi.

On their first visit to Vietnam, during Christmas, Anna’s family are excited to explore the beautiful country. It gives them a sense of closeness and familiarity on the biggest holiday of the year.

Christmas melodies resound along the streets of Hanoi, from shops to hotels.

Foreign tourists visiting during the holiday find it hard to take their eyes off the splendidly-decorated scenes.

Crowds of tourists stroll along brightly-decorated streets such as Hang Ma and Hang Luoc in the Old Quarter to take in the vibrant Christmas atmosphere.

Christmas is the busiest time of the year for St Joseph’s Cathedral, as it welcomes a large number of foreign visitors. This year, the cathedral has been decorated so sparklingly that every visitor wants to “capture the moment”.

With Christmas activities taking place and joy to be found everywhere, the impression of a beautiful and hospitable Vietnam shines through and helps attract more and more international friends./.
