Former NA leaders honoured with Lao National Orders

Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Sounthne Sayachak presented the Lao National Orders to leaders and former leaders of the Vietnam National Assembly (NA) in Hanoi on Jan. 26.

The Itsala Order - Freedom Order, second class, was conferred on to former Politburo member and former NA Vice Chairman Truong Quang Duoc and former NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Phuc Thanh.

Former head of the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Tran Thi Tam Dan was honoured with the Labour Order, first class while the Labour Order, second class and third class were presented to deputy head of the NA Office Nguyen Sy Dung and former deputy head of the NA Committee for Economic Affairs Duong Thu Huong, respectively.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Sayachak congratulated Vietnamese NA leaders and former leaders on receiving the decoration of the Lao State immediately after the successful completion of the 11th National Party Congress.

“This was in recognition of Vietnamese NA leaders’ achievements and contributions to the cause for national liberation, construction and development of the Lao peoples, which has helped further strengthen special solidarity, time-honoured friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries,” said the diplomat./.
