Forum talks Vietnam-Ukraine relations in new stage

Kiev (VNA) – The Embassy of Vietnam in Ukraine and the Ukraine Chamber ofCommerce and Industry (UCCI) co-hosted a forum entitled “Vietnam-Ukrainerelations in the new stage” in Kiev on October 11.

Theevent saw participation of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang QuocVuong, who is Chairman of the Vietnamese Subcommittee of the Vietnam-Ukraine IntergovernmentalCommittee for Economic-Trade and Science-Technology Cooperation; Vietnamese Ambassadorto Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan; Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Policies onAgriculture and Food Olga Trophiseva; Deputy Minister of Infrastructure VictorDovgan; UCCI President Ghenady Chizhucov, Ambassador to Vietnam AlexeyShovkopkias, among others.

Representativesfrom over 60 Vietnamese businesses and 150 Ukrainian enterprises also attendedthe event.

Theevent was designed to boost the comprehensive cooperation and friendshipbetween Vietnam and Ukraine, promote networking between Vietnamese andUkrainian businesses, and provide support for overseas Vietnamese (OV) inUkraine.

Addressingthe event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong andVietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan highlighted the importance ofbilateral cooperative ties and the role of enterprises in boostingeconomic-trade ties between the two countries.

Theyalso underlined the Vietnamese Government’s cooperation orientations andmeasures to assist Vietnamese and Ukrainian firms and support overseasVietnamese in Ukraine.

Vietnameseand Ukrainian speakers briefed participants on the socio-economic situation andeconomic policies of their respective nation as well as cooperation potentialsbetween the two sides, while representatives from ministries, sectors addressedbusinesses’ questions.

Anumber of agreements were signed at the forum, which was held right after the 14th meeting of the Vietnam-UkraineIntergovernmental Committee for Economic-Trade and Science-TechnologyCooperation in Kiev.-VNA
