Free entrance for tourists to Ban Gioc Waterfall Festival

To facilitate the organisation of the Ban Gioc Waterfalls Tourism Festival 2023, attract more tourists and revive the tourism industry, the People's Committee of the northern province of Cao Bang asked the Management Board of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Site to not collect fees from visitors to the event from October 5-7.

Cao Bang (VNA) - Tofacilitate the organisation of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Festival 2023, attract more touristsand revive the tourism industry, the People's Committee of the northernprovince of Cao Bang asked the Management Board of the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tourism Siteto not collect fees from visitors to the event from October 5-7.

The festival will start with a water procession ceremony to prayfor peace in the country and good weather for agriculture.

It will also feature an exhibition to display and introduce products,specialities and dishes of the province as well as sports activities, folkgames and chestnut-picking.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be a performanceof Then singing – a special ritual practice of ethnic minority groups - and Tinhmusical instrument with the attendanceof 1,000 people.

The Ban Gioc Waterfall is located within the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark,which was recognised as a global geopark by the UNESCO Global Geoparks Councilin 2018. It is considered a home to various fauna and flora species and gives insight into morethan 500 million years of Earth’s history.

Ban Gioc and Trung Khanh district also mesmerise visitors with thecultural heritage of ethnic people living there, including Tay, Nung, Thai, andMong people.

The festival aims to introduce and promote the scenery, culture,and people of Cao Bang, as well as the Ban Gioc Waterfall to domestic andinternational visitors.

The number of tourists to the Ban Gioc Waterfall reached nearly227,000 people in the first nine months of this year. Currently, the ticketprice to visit the Ban Gioc Waterfall and Nguom Ngao cave is 45,000 VND (1.85 USD) perperson./.
