German caravans on trial in Vietnam

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the trial circulation of caravans of more than nine seats brought into Vietnam by German tourists.

This forms part of amendments to the Government’s Decree No.152/2013/ND-CP dated November 4, 2013 on management of motor vehicles brought into Vietnam by foreign tourists.

The Government leader urged the Ministry of Transport to be responsible for supervising the trial operation of this kind of vehicle, which is organised by the Asian Trails Co., Ltd.

Under the decree, motor vehicles brought into Vietnam by foreign tourists must be cars used to transport tourists with steering wheel on the left or being motorbikes.

Vehicle owners are foreign individuals or organisations, and the number plates were registered abroad. They must have valid certification on technical safety and environmental protection.-VNA
