Hanoi (VNA) – The 2024 gathering for women diplomats, spouses ofambassadors and the diplomatic corps in Vietnam was held in Hanoi on April 13evening, with the attendance of Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui ThanhSon and his wife, and nearly 500 other delegates.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi ThuHang said that the get-together is the start of a series of activities in 2024 toconnect foreign diplomatic corps’ staffs with each other, and with Vietnam’sdiplomats and former diplomats, as well as with other Vietnamese people.

The foreign ministry has organised many events to introduce Vietnamese culture to international friends, such as a cuisine festival offering typical dishes of Vietnameseregions, a programme on the history of Vietnamese silk, an exchange programmethemed “Return to the cultural space of Xu Doai”, and a real-life show “TheEssence of the North”.

Appreciating the Vietnamese ministry’s organisation of thegathering, Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila committed to promotingclose relations between Vietnam and partners.

She also emphasised the efforts of Vietnamin empowering women, noting that the programme exploring Vietnamese culture andtraditions has shown the role of women in all historicalperiods in the country./.

452 lawmakers, or 94.56% of the total number of deputies present, voted in favour the revised Law on Corporate Income Tax, while the amended Excise Tax Law was adopted with 448 out of 454 deputies present voting in favour, accounting for 93.72% of the total.
