A string of activities was held in Pleiku city, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai , on March 15-16 in response to the “2014 Central Highlands-Da Lat National Tourism Year.”
The events aimed to promote the image of land and people in Gia Lai and the wider region, contributing to protecting and upholding traditional values of ethnic groups.
Among them was the Victory Festival of the Bahnar people, which involved the participation of more than 50 artisans with various props such as gongs and spears.
The festival voices the Bahnar people’s happiness after combating hunger and natural disasters.
Another 50 J’rai and Bahnar artisans showed off their statue sculpting skills, attracting a big crow of visitors.
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also partnered with localities to launch tours that allow visitors to explore the beauty of T’Nung Lake, Dong Xanh Park and Phu Cuong Waterfall, among others.-VNA
