Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Craft Villages Festival 2023 was held from November 9-11 at the Thang Long Citadel in Hanoi to honour traditional craft products from across the country.
Among the thousands of sophisticated handicraft and fine arts products on display here, a unique giant leather shoe in the middle of the exhibition area has attracted a lot of attention from visitors. This is a product of Nguyen Van Khuong and his colleagues at the Leather and Shoes Research Institute under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This unique shoe is 4.02m long, 1.42m wide and 1.32m high. It is made entirely of high-quality leather and has an eye-catching shape. It took up to 10 months to produce this shoe.
Recently, the shoe was recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization as the largest men's leather shoe.
This year’s festival also saw the presence of more than 300 booths from 42 provinces and cities nationwide as well as international booths.
The event is aimed at preserving and promoting the identity of the nation's traditional cultural values.
It also honoured talented artisans and workers, promoted, and introduced traditional craft villages and craft streets in Hanoi and the country. The unique shoe promotes consumption, enhancing product value and developing tourism in craft villages./.
