Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) - Leaders of the Border Guard Commandof central Thua Thien-Hue province presented food and necessities to armedforces and residents in the Lao provinces of Salavan and Sekong at the A Dot - TaVang and Hong Van - Co Tai border gates on September 23.

Commander Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoa handed over 225 gifts, including morethan 2.5 tonnes of rice, 500 masks, and 30 boxes of noodles worth nearly 50million VND (2,100 USD) in total.

Ties between Thua Thien-Hue in general and the provincial Border Guardin particular with border guards in Sekong and Salavan provinces and other Laolocalities have been deepened via information sharing, joint patrols, and the effectivefighting against crime, contributing to improving the COVID-19 fight andprotecting border areas.

Border stations along the Vietnam-Laosborder line together with A Luoi authorities have held a number of visits andpresented gifts to armed forces and residents from Lao localities, furthertightening solidarity between border guards and peoples in the two nations./.
