A gigantic observation wheel named “Sun Wheel”, one of the top 10 tallest in the world, has just been put under operation at Asia Park in the central coastal city of Da Nang.
The 115m-high wheel has 64 cabins capable of carrying up to 384 passengers with the velocity of 15 minutes per round. It offers a panoramic view of the central coastal city.
The first among a series of facilities in the Asia Park project, the wheel is expected to become an attractive destination to both locals and tourists.
The construction of the giant wheel began in October 2013 with the participation of leading experts from Germany, Japan and Thailand besides domestic engineers and workers.
On the occasion of the wheel’s inauguration, a promotion programme is underway from July 18 to December 31 offering a special entry fee of only 50,000 VND (2.4 USD).
Asia Park is being built on an area of more than 880,000sq.m at a total investment of 4 trillion VND (188 million USD).
The project will be completed in late 2015.-VNA
