The 2013 Gold Star Award was presented to 200 outstanding brands across 29 sectors for their product quality and social responsibility in Hanoi on September 2.
Truong Hai Auto Joint Stock Corporation, Hoa Sen Group, Phu My Fertiliser Plant, PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation, Vietnam Rubber Group, FPT Group, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Traphaco JSC, Thien Long Group, and Vissan Ltd. Co. were in top ten this year.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that the Party and State always pay special attention to facilitating the rapid and sustainable development of Vietnamese businesses.
He asked the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association and businesses nationwide to uphold their achievements and surmount difficulties to gain a foothold in the domestic market and head towards the global level.
He also urged them to better business administration, intensify investment in science and technology, restructure their operations, improve competitiveness, and make the best use of opportunities in order to create competitive products and services.
The award, founded in 2003, aims to encourage Vietnamese businesses to focus on building their brands and enhance their competitiveness to prepare for international integration.
Over the past decade, nearly 1,730 outstanding brands have been honoured.
In 2012, the honoured brands generated more than 743 trillion VND in revenue, paid 46 trillion VND to the State budget and created jobs for 466,000 people.-VNA
