Government to strictly handle products with image of China’s nine-dash line

The Government will strictly handle products with image of China’s nine-dash line in the East Sea and punish those who are responsible for the violation, officials said at a press conference after the Government’s regular October meeting on November 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Government will strictlyhandle products with image of China’s nine-dash line in the East Sea and punishthose who are responsible for the violation, officials said at a pressconference after the Government’s regular October meeting on November 5.

Regarding a scene featuring amap of the East Sea showing the U-shaped line that appeared in the animatedfilm “Everest: The Little Snowman”, DeputyMinister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said acting head of theVietnam Cinema Department Nguyen Thi Thu Ha and the film censorship board hadbeen disciplined.

The ministryhas asked the Vietnam Cinema Department to urge the staff to raise theirawareness and remain vigilant on such matters, she said.

On the useof textbooks with the U-shaped line map at the Hanoi University of Business andTechnology (HUBT), Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do saidHUBT has been instructed to stop the use of the materials, clarify who wasresponsible and punish them in line with the law.

DeputyMinister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung mentioned some recent cases whenproducts with images of the U-shaped line were imported for exhibition or sale,which he said are serious violations of law.

In order to prevent similaroccurrences, the Ministry of Industry and Trade asked the Finance Ministry andthe Transport Ministry to enhance the management of imports.

Hung said all products withsuch images will be recalled, and handled based on the level of violations.

He added that as early asJanuary 1 this year, the ministry had issued a document requiring all itsagencies and units to intensify inspections of commercial activities in areasunder their management./.

Vietnamese, Chinese border guards coordinate to promote legal awareness among residents

During the four-day programme, thousands of leaflets were distributed, covering topics such as border management agreements and protocols, the agreement on regulations for management of the Vietnam–China land border, immigration and customs laws, border gate management, and measures to combat smuggling and trade fraud, as well as the importance of safeguarding national sovereignty and border security.

Breeding cows presented to poor households along Vietnam–Cambodia border
